Maria Cristina Messa, a graduate in Medicine and Surgery with a specialty in Nuclear Medicine, is full professor of diagnostic imaging.
From 2013 to 2019 she was dean of the University of Milan-Bicocca, the first woman to lead a Milanese university. Engaged in the enhancement of research and innovation as a strategic foundation of institutional activity, during her mandate she paid particular attention to relations between universities and the territory at an international level.
From 2011 to 2015 she was vice president of the National Research Council (CNR). Its main objectives include carrying out research projects, promoting innovation and competitiveness of the national industrial system, promoting the internationalization of the Italian research system, and providing technologies and solutions to emerging needs in the public and private sector.
He has a long experience in experimental research in Diagnostic Imaging, Nuclear Medicine, Radiological Sciences, with particular regard to neurodegenerative and neoplastic transformations.
Maria Cristina Messa is the author of more than 180 scientific works. His publications have received more than 6,000 citations, with an average of more than 300 citations per year over the past 15 years, including scientific works with more than 110 citations.
